Privacy

What you share with me stays between us and the people needed to arrange your charter. Here is how, in plain words.

Who is responsible

I am: Didier Blacquiere, a yacht charter broker in partnership with DMA Yachting. You can reach me at [email protected].

What the enquiry form collects

Only what you choose to send: your name, an email address or phone number, how you prefer to be reached, and your trip details, such as destination, dates, guests, budget band and any notes.

The form also sends how you found the site: the first page you landed on, the site that referred you, any campaign (UTM) tags in the link, the page you sent it from and your browser type. Your country is worked out from your connection; your IP address is not kept.

Why

To reply to your enquiry and, if you go ahead, to arrange your charter. The source details simply tell me how you found the site.

Where it is kept

The site runs on Cloudflare, which hosts it, stores enquiries in a database and delivers them to my email. From there, your details sit in my email.

If we plan a charter, I share what is needed with DMA Yachting and with the yacht's owner or central agent, only to arrange that charter. If you email, call or message me on WhatsApp, those services carry the message under their own terms.

What I don't do

I do not sell your data. There are no advertising trackers or social media pixels on this site.

Some yacht pages show videos or 3D tours from YouTube, Vimeo or Matterport. They load from those services, which see your IP address like any website does. YouTube runs in its privacy-enhanced mode and Vimeo with tracking turned off. If you play one, that service handles it under its own privacy terms.

Analytics and your browser

I use Cloudflare Web Analytics to count visits. It is privacy-friendly and sets no cookies.

The site keeps one item in your browser's local storage to remember the first page you landed on and where you came from. It only leaves your browser if you send the form, and you can clear it in your browser settings at any time.

How long I keep it

For as long as your enquiry and any charter that follows need it, and after that only as long as legal, tax and accounting rules require.

Your rights

Under South Africa's POPIA and the EU and UK GDPR, you can ask to see the details I hold about you, have them corrected or deleted, or object to how I use them. Email me at [email protected] and I will reply personally.

If you are not happy with my answer, you can complain to the Information Regulator in South Africa, the data protection authority where you live in the EU, or the Information Commissioner's Office in the UK.
